OUR COMPOUNDS

At U.S. Rubber Corporation, every conveyor belt is engineered with specialty rubber compounds designed to perform in the most demanding industrial environments. Each compound is precisely formulated and carefully engineered to deliver the specific resistance properties required for the application—whether facing abrasion, impact, heat, oil, moisture, or chemical exposure.

Our rubber compounds are developed to provide long-lasting durability, consistent performance, and reliable belt life, ensuring dependable operation even under extreme operating conditions. From heavy-duty material handling to specialized applications, U.S. Rubber conveyor belts are built to withstand the toughest challenges across industries worldwide.

GENERAL PURPOSE COMPOUNDS

Grade I (RMA I)

A premium, heavy-duty rubber compound engineered for exceptional resistance to cutting, gouging, and tearing caused by sharp or high-impact materials. This compound exceeds RMA Grade I requirements by a significant margin and is ideal for the most demanding abrasive applications.

Recommended Applications:
Heavy slab ores, quartz, trap rock, granite, glass cullet, ballast, and similar materials

Service Temperature:

  • -30°F to 200°F

Grade II (RMA II)

Designed for the majority of surface, non-oily, and moderate-heat applications, U.S. Rubber’s Grade II compound approaches RMA Grade I performance levels, providing excellent abrasion resistance and long service life.

Recommended Applications:
Slag, limestone, coal, bauxite, crushed rock, sand, and other abrasive materials

Service Temperature:

  • -25°F to 180°F

RUBSTONE Super Abrasion Resistant (SAR)

Engineered for environments where severe abrasion is the primary concern. RUBSTONE® SAR delivers extended belt life in high-wear applications and impact-heavy loading zones.

Recommended Applications:
Crushed stone, trap rock, copper or gold ore, sinter, coke, log handling, primary crushers

Service Temperature:

  • -30°F to 200°F
OIL RESISTANT COMPOUNDS

Super Oil Resistant (SOR)

A high-performance compound offering excellent resistance to mineral oils and most industrial oils that typically cause swelling and degradation. Also provides strong abrasion, tear, ozone, and weather resistance.

Recommended Applications:

Animal fats, vegetable oils, oily metal parts, and oil-contaminated materials

Service Temperature:

  • -20°F to 200°F

Moderate Oil Resistant (MOR)

Formulated for moderately oily environments, MOR compounds provide dependable performance where light oil exposure is present but high impact is not.

Recommended Applications:
Wood chips, oil-treated coal, sewage waste, sludge, whole grains

Limitations:

  • Not recommended for high-impact applications

Service Temperature:

  • -30°F to 200°F
HEAT RESISTANT COMPOUNDS

Heat and Oil Service (HOS)

A dual-purpose compound designed for applications requiring resistance to both elevated temperatures and oil exposure. Ideal for hot materials containing petroleum-based oils.

Recommended Applications:
Hot asphalt mixes, petroleum coke, carbon pitch, diesel- or kerosene-contaminated materials, oil extractors, oily grains and seeds

Service Temperature:

  • -20°F to 250°F (fines)
  • -20°F to 350°F (coarse material over 2")

Note: This compound is not recommended for high-heat applications where oil is not present.

HEATGUARD Super Heat Resistant (EPDM)

Designed for severe heat applications involving abrasive materials. HEATGUARD® provides excellent resistance to ozone, cracking, and hardening but does not offer oil resistance.

Recommended Applications:
Foundry sand, carbon black, ash, salt, coke, cinders, castings, slag

Service Temperature:

  • -40°F to 350°F (fines)
  • -40°F to 400°F (coarse material over 2")
FLAME RETARDANT COMPOUNDS

Flameguard (MSHA Underground)

A flame-retardant rubber compound engineered for underground conveyor belt applications requiring compliance with MSHA 2-G standards.

Recommended Applications:
Coal, salt, potash, and similar materials

Service Temperature:

  • -30°F to 200°F

Flame Retardant – Above Ground (FR)

Designed for surface and above-ground applications, this compound provides dependable flame resistance for industrial conveying environments.

Service Temperature:

  • -30°F to 200°F

Grain Service Preferred (SCORF)

A premium static-conductive, oil-resistant, flame-retardant compound developed specifically for grain handling applications. SCORF provides reliable service without performance penalties and meets both ASTM D-378 flame-retardant and OSHA requirements.

Recommended Applications:
All grain market conveying applications

Service Temperature:

  • -30°F to 200°F
